Blonde Ambition

/ / m a i n / /

hola my dear readers/friends!!
so as the title aptly described...i have gone BLONDE ;)))

okay not full on blonde, i'm not so brave just yet, but blonde highlights for a start!
you might have noticed that i chopped off a good portion of my locks too, and boy it felt good.
it was liberation and silky smooth locks once again after snipping those horrible dry ends off, good riddance haha.
so lets see how it started off shall we?
i can't even look at this picture of gosh, those dry ends are so bad!
lets just say that bleaching + perming is really not a good idea at all.

after a few hours of chatting with my stylist nic, reading up on the latest runway trends and a much needed nap, i woke up to gorgeous gorgeous blonde streaks!
so so impressed by nic's skills once again, please look for him when you're there!
a good hairstylist makes all the difference especially when it comes to colouring/haircuts, really!

for my highlights here, it required 2 times of bleaching, but not to worry this free hand highlight technique will not cause damage to the scalp because it does not touch the scalp at all.
also, you may not believe it but even after bleaching two times, after doing a mucota treatment, my hair felt softer and even silkier than before, maybe because the dry ends were all snipped off:)
and i'm saying this 2 weeks after i got the bleaching done, my hair is still smooth and very manageable!
and look at the super nicely done v-shaped haircut nic did for me, much love!!

here are some more pictures of my new hair colour and shorter, sleeker do!
hope you guys like it as much as i do!
i find that with this new look, i can't pull off girly stuff as well anymore, but there's a new kind of energy emanating and chic, tougher looks come much more naturally for me now.
i'm definitely loving and embracing the new change!

here's how it looks like when tied up!
absolutely loving the tortoiseshell effect here!
got so many compliments for this hehe.

hehe D did a great job of capturing my side view here, it rarely looks so chiselled!

and he helped me snap my outfit shots too!
im wearing a knit cropped top, boyfriend ripped jeans from thetinselrack (ttr) and my trusty satchel is from bershka!
oh and slip on shoes are from the editors market!

/ /  m a i n / /

hello everyone!
i know i haven't been updating much recently, thats cos i've been prepping for mid terms and been spending time with loved ones as much as i can recently, so do pardon my lack of updates!
but im rather active on dayre and instagram @etherealpeonies :)

so its time for my monthly hair treat at headlines hairdressing!
this month i'm giving my tresses a break and staying away from colouring etc, so i did a scalp and hair treatment this time round!
here's a before shot, my hair is really dry from both bleaching and perming, so a treatment is definitely much needed!
these are the products used for scalp treatment.
its from the matrix series and this brand is used in many salons worldwide!
first step will be the exfoliator, to remove buildup and dead skin from the scalp.
second step will be shampooing, using a refreshing mint scalp shampoo.
third step will be a cooling and soothing mask for the scalp.
and last step is an ampoule, for softening the hair follicles to stimulate healthy hair growth!:)

as for hair treatment, nic used the mucota series for me, which i love cos it smells so good!
this mucota hair treatment is a three step process and it coats the hair with a protective layer that lasts for about a month:)

the light blue and purple ones are for moisturizing the hair, while the darker blue one is a spray which contains protein for the hair:)

and voila!
the end result which im so pleased with as usual!!
still loving my hair colour so much, it looks really nicely blended here doesn't it;)
and i really don't have the skills (and patience) to blow my hair so nicely everyday, so i'm always glad to have nic do it for me and i can have a really good hair day hehe!

some more photos taken after the trip to headlines!

as usual, thank you headlines hairdressing for taking care of my hair!!
my stylist is nic and he's so talented so please look for him when you're there!

i'm loving the feminine pairing here hehe ;)

i know im damn lag but omg i finally tried sunday folks!!
loved the earl grey soft serve, super refreshing!
the waffles and cake wasn't too bad, but its not spectacular.
so i would say, go to sunday folks for their soft serve!;)

some of you emailed me asking if i have lash extensions/what mascara i use in my makeup looks.
so to answer these queries...
i don't have lash extensions on, and my hold grail mascara is lancome's grandoise!:)

hola! has everyone been well?:)
i spent my saturday exploring tanjong pagar with daniel!
the buildings in that vicinity are a bit rustic and colonial-like, very pretty.

we had an early dinner at drury lane, because they close at 6pm on saturdays (say what?!)
i've heard good stuff about drury lane, so the expectation level was kinda high.
but i'd have to say honestly that we were disappointed with the fare they had.
daniel got the grilled cheese sandwich and while it was very affordable, the portion is so small that i'd even say its pitiful. (not very professional indeed)
the muffins are abit 'special', in a sense that you can pay as much as you wish for it.
so we got a nutella smores muffin, which i thought was alright but not extraordinary.
and my main, which was their signature baked eggs.
i chose the turkey bacon and mushroom one.
it looks pretty photogenic but i didn't enjoy this at all (sorry if i'm being too honest).
this is the only time i had brunch fare and kinda stopped after the first bite.
okay to be fair its not that it tastes bad, its just that the baked eggs were really quite uncooked.
so its like the oozy yolk kind, similar to the ones in egg benedicts, but this one is uncooked in a sense that i could still see abit of the jelly like transparent layer, which is gross.
so yup, won't be dropping by drury lane again any time soon!

we explored the area for just abit before the skies turned really dark and we were like "arghh its gonna rain!!"
but, le good boyfriend still managed to take a few otd shots for me hehe.
took a candid of him cos i was trying to get a few test shots, and he looks really good in candids?!
life is unfair hahaha.

scuba dress from the editor's market
boxy bag from forever new
silver cuff from juicy couture

ending off with some toothy grins and silly snapshots!

till the next;
