hey guys! random midweek post today to clear my backlog:)

i got some queries on askfm about what eyeshadows i use for my everyday look so i thought i'll just mention it again today!

i did a "everyday makeup tutorial" here last year, but this year it kinda changed already, so if you guys want me to do another one feel free to ask!

anyways, to the main topic!

the question i got is "what are your must have eyeshadows?"

i would say, Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 and 3.

i featured a look created using palette 3 in the everyday makeup tutorial so i won't talk about it again today.

pictures below show how i would use colours in palette 1 for a neutral bronze look with a tinge of gold.

palette 1 and 3 are both great for both daily looks and more formal looks.

i usually just switch between the two palettes depending on my mood:)

i got some stuff during sephora's 20% storewide sale some time back so i thought i'd do a mini loot post for you guys!

here's my most reached for lippie of the moment- Twig from MAC.

its a semi deep matte rosy-brown shade.

its not as deep as berry or dark red shades but still enough to give a slight sultry look thats classy yet fun.

here's how it looks like when worn:

another shade i got from MAC is Angel.

this one is a really sweet baby pink thats suitable for daily looks or when your eyes are more heavily made up (i.e smoky eyes).

i also got the biotherm gift set which was so worth it!

the gift set consists of the life plankton essence, aquasource serum(travel size) and moisturizer(travel size), and is the same price as the life plankton essence when sold separately lol!

so obviously must get the gift set right haha.

i wanted to get the biotherm life plankton essence cos it had so many raves.

its basically a pre serum, which helps lock in moisture, conditions your skin, soothes and plumps.

its very easily absorbed, non sticky and has a consistency only slightly thicker than water.  

this is definitely a will repurchase item for me!

i always change/try out diff skincare products, so if i repurchase it means i rly like it;) 

these are the free gifts!

i tried the aquasource serum already and i really like it as well!

non sticky and easily absorbed.

for the moisturizer its in a gel form which i like, however it gives a tingly sensation when applied, not sure if its just me cos my skin in sensitive sometimes.

this is the Fresh Dare To Bare gift set which was really worth it as well!

it contains many of Fresh's best selling items at smaller travel size, which is perfect if you want to try out their different products before purchasing the actual full size.

my favs from this set are the lip polish and lip balms!

i have a bad habit of biting my lips whenever im focused on something (i.e studying) so i have to invest in lip products quite often><

last but not least...

guerlain's meteorites!!

this has been on my wishlist for so long omg.

its basically a highlighter, which u apply to the areas on your face where the light hits (i.e cheekbones, forehead, nosebridge).

i got this in shade claire, which is a pearly luminous shade:)

they look so pretty right!!

at this rate i won't bear to use them omg T.T

This was taken when i just did the soft perm at salon vim btw! So it looks super curly, but now my hair is like pin straight cos the perm has grown out :x I know i promised a hair post some time back, i'm prob not gonna do up one on the perm cos i already did a detailed one here before, so i'll just do the one on hair colouring! (wait for it kay!)

So anyways, Singapore has been seeing some erratic weather some time back and gorgeous pink blooms flooded the trees. Needless to say, i'm loving every bit of it :) New fav phototaking spot haha. Also, pardon the slightly not up to standard pictures this time, my brother took these for me and its his first time taking ootd shots so much editing was needed and i did what i could to save it haha.

Colours and prints are true to this picture below:

Review: Two piece sets are really popular nowadays, and i've gotten my first one from ashincans:) As usual i have a weak spot for florals, and this one is in a super sweet lilac shade! One thing to note though, the prints are more or less printed on and not sewn on/embedded, so i'm not too sure if it'll fade after washes. The material for this is quite unique, feels like a luxe crepe material, slightly rough and finely textured. It is generally non sheer cos there's an additional innter lining. Sizing wise there's only one size for this (free size) and for the skirt its generally ok but for the top the ptp is too big, probably would fit a large UK8/10 better imo. So yup for this i would say its a hit and miss, prints are pretty but sizing is off.

Also, it was Sephora's yearly(?) 20% off storewide event so i took the chance to stock up on some essentials:) I was actually lucky cos i didn't know about this event and when i headed down the staff told me its the last day of the sale! Lucky me ;) 

So anyways here's what i got!

Philosophy's Field of Flowers EDT

Im a huge fan of Philosophy's scents cos they're always smell just nice, not overbearing and so so good ;) My fav is Grace, but this one smells really nice too!
And my classmate sng always tell me i smell like flowers (sng is so cute LOL) but yup i'd probably attribute that to this! ;)

Benefit's Posie Tint

There are newer versions of this tint, such as Lollitint, but i still prefer the first two versions, Benetint and Posietint. After so long, i finally got my own posietint!:) Its a super sweet and natural shade of pink, and can act and a blush or lip tint ;) Can't wait to use it hehe.

MAC Satin Lipstick; Twig

MAC Lipstick; Smart & Sweet

 I'm obsessed with lip colours lately, and after experimenting with some louder shades of fuschia and reds, its good to get some more natural looking shades for dress down days. 

Twig is a pinky brown shade and has a slightly matte finish. This shade is the perfect everyday shade with a slight sultry twist which matches pretty much every skin tone if you ask me:)

Smart and Sweet is a popular 'korean' pink, as described by the staff at MAC. Its a really sweet baby pink which goes well with most looks, but do note that it may emphasize fine lines on the lips!

Makeup For Ever's HD Primer (Green)

My current Laneige Water Primer in Green is running out soon so i decided to get another one before it actually does run out. From the packaging to colour, both are really similar and since Laneige's version works pretty ok for me, i think this one will too. Haven't tried it out yet but i'm already holding high hopes for this product after reading good reviews on it ;)

Review(LB Dress): Made of rough crepe material, feels like the expensive/luxe kind, non sheer:) Its elasticized at the ptp and waist area. I got this in XS and it fits quite well, only slightly loose at the waist area. Its a super fuss free dress thats perfect for summer imo! I can imagine styling it with a floppy straw hat haha. Love the eyelet and crochet details at the upper bandeau area as well. Length wise its okay for me though i would think it might be short for the taller ones! Overall its a good buy, very suitable for summer and comfy to wear in spore's heat as well! 

Had a relaxing day out with nikks the day after our papers ended:) It was some much needed freedom indeed! 

Settled down at Kith Cafe for brunch:) We wanted to order their smoked salmon pizza but unfortunately they only serve that after 3pm:/

But anyways here's what we got:)

Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake

This was utterly sinful to the max haha! Layers and layers of thick salted caramel within the gooey moist chocolate makes this a decadence. The taste is really very rich, a delight for the taste buds indeed ;) I would say this is worth a try! But more suitable for sharing cos it may get a little gelat after awhile haha:)

Strawberry and Mint Cooler

We ordered the Big Breakfast for sharing because we got the cake as well! The mushrooms and sausage were pretty good, my fav part of the entire dish actually. The toast is really crispy but slightly burnt (as you can see), the roasted tomatoes likewise. I would rate this entire dish as mediocre honestly, nothing to rave about but its not considered bad. I've definitely had better ones though, like at Wild Honey or Choupinette!

Despite the somewhat mediocre food, the great company made up for it:)
