Marble

/ / m a i n / /

hola!
who hasn't been to national gallery yet?
if you haven't, then scoot along and plan a trip there today heh!

national gallery is the new hipster place in sg, its all over instagram and everyone has been there (almost).

daniel and i went there some time back, a bit later than most but still better late than never!
the best part is its free for singaporeans and there's aircon inside the building so its easy to enjoy art without having to brave the heat!:)

the whole building was huge and we definitely couldn't explore all the nooks and crannies even though we were there for more than an hour!
but i think we managed to see the main galleries and areas:)

enjoy the visuals!:)

my top is from bangkok
skirt from osmosestores
bag from bershka
shoes from asos

m a r b l e tiles everywhere!! -inserts heart eyes-

made daniel take a photo too for memory sake hehe.
he's wearing a shirt i picked out for him when we went malaysia!:)

if you're wondering how we got these shots...
i brought a tripod hahahah
luckily we didn't get many stares while taking these!

what we think we look like:

how (lame) we actually look hahaha

we're not artsy people at all but we try, we try.
hehe.

went to raffles city for tea break after!
we had nutella cake and truffle fries at Podi.
sinful max but its alright, we enjoyed it to make the calories worth ;)

till the next;

L'etoile

/ / m a i n / /

not many of you may know this but i'm currently working as a tuition teacher:)
and one thing i really love about this job is the time flexibility.

my mornings to mid afternoons are always free because my tutees are in school, and so on a random weekday i decided to go on a date with my mom to spend some quality time together!

we went for brunch at L'etoile Cafe:)
its near Novena and you can take a bus from novena mrt.
mom took some photos for me and i have to say she's getting pretty good at this!

the watch im wearing here is kindly sponsored by bicycles!
like the name suggests, they sell bicycles, but of course it doesn't stop at that:)
they sell loads of accessories and gadgets as well, from selfie sticks (which i blogged about here) to stuff like sports watches, like the one i'm wearing here.
i'm really glad to have received this in white because its so modern and chic!
i also received this in a nice box, along with spare batteries so this would make a good gift!

here's what we ordered for the day!

matcha red bean chiffon cake
 salted caramel chiffon cake
 salmon pasta
 truffle fries
 the verdict?
l'etoile is not worth a visit for the food, in my honest opinion.
everything is mediocre, or even below standard, except the pasta which was passable.
or perhaps its because i prefer denser cakes?
cos the chiffon cakes seem abit..lacking substance.
its basically like pandan cake, just wayyy pricier.
the truffle fries aren't bad to be fair, but the portion is crazy scary and this ranks at the bottom amongst the cafes which i've tried truffle fries at (i.e strangers reunion, ps cafe, habitat etc)

on a side note, l'etoile's interior deco really is pretty.

here's how l'etoile looks like on the outside.
its abit inaccessible, from novena mrt you'll have to take a bus.

i've also been really addicted to reading nowadays.
call me a mugger but really, reading can be so enjoyable.
i currently have my eyes glued to Brandon Sue's fantasy trilogies and i highly recommend you guys to try reading it too!!

L'etoile cafe has a cozy reading corner on the second level fyi ;)

& here's my outfit details for the day!

top from the closet lover
skirt from zalora
wedges from asos

i got the skirt at 20% off from zalora's retail store at ION, so worth it!!
and the wedges were on sale too, they lengthen my legs magically omg, love it :)))

took a selfie with mummy.
my mum looks really young for her age huh ;)
if i were as pretty as her at her age i'd be so lucky already!

till the next;

思い出

// p r e //

memories?

“Tears, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depths of some devine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy autumn fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.”
-Alfred Tennyson

// m a i n //

hello everyone:) so sometime back i had an outing to NUS' open house with my dearest goons from LFC:) We haven't had a proper outing in so long and though it wasn't full attendance this time, im really glad we YOLO-ed and just went on this impromptu trip though exams were in one week:) Its the little carefree trips like this that are the best:)

My only pair of flat flats (if you get what i mean), couldn't resist the gorgeous sparkly embellishments!

"WHAT IS LIFEEEE???"
hahahha this seah so goon as usual XD

HAHAHA too epic for captions!!

Took an OTD there as well hehe.

Scoop-back Tank from Twistpolka
Sparrow Skirt from ASOS
Shoes from C&K

Review(ASOS): Got this from ASOS when i was trying to shop for faculty outing clothes!:) Made of stretchy cotton blend:) Its elasticized at the waist, light and soft to the touch:) A very comfy piece! I got this in UK6 and i think it fits true, though elasticized it may be too small for big UK8 and above! The sparrow print on the navy base is really pretty:) But the sparrow design is printed on, not sewn on so im not sure if it'll fade after a few washes! But as of now its still as good as new:) A good casual piece imo, easy to pair and quite fail proof!:)

Aft stoning at the grass patch we continued exploring the campus:)) Or more like we followed the smell of popcorn HAHA

YAY my fav minion ^_^

Me, seah and mui headed down to KAP for lunch afterwards:) It was the day before KAP officially closed and there were so many people! I have never queued SO LONG just to buy macs haha, 45 minutes to be exact. But i guess everyone just wanted to relive their memories one last time before this place closed down. It really holds alot of memories, esp students, even those generations and generations back. What i can say is that at the rate the older buildings are being demolished, by the time people my age grow up, there won't be anything to identify with anymore.

Our very last meal at KAP >< and this seah still looking so happy zzz ._.

And of course we had to take pictures for keepsake :)

Me and seah used to sit on this flight of steps and eat sushi and just yolo our lives away back in sec1:) sigh, the good old times><
goodbye kap! you'll be dearly missed!!

The next day was good food day with seah haha xD
I brought her to Saveur for lunch before tuition:)

Saveur's Pasta <3
goon seah looking spastic as usual hahaha

Mushroom Cappuccino (not bad but i would say there are better ones around!)

totally bare faced + super cui but happy cos i really love saveur!!^^

DUCK CONFIT MY FAV!!
This never disappoints me hehe :)

We ordered dessert to share as well cos we're gluttons! :x

Chocolate and Berries Mousse
This was really yums as well! I loved the smooth consistency of the mousse and it was rly flavourful:) Seah loved the mixture of chocolate and berries cos she said the slight sourness of the berries went very nicely with the chocolate haha. The portion is quite big and it may get abit sweet after awhile so this is good for sharing:) Nonetheless i really enjoyed this as well!:)

It was a good meal hehe. I've been to Saveur two times so far and it hasn't failed me!! In fact im craving for it now haha:) Definitely recommended cos its good + not pricey for its venue/quality/everything!! ^_^ Go try it everyone:))

Okay and erm random much but.....ending off with pictures of Scrump (from Lilo & Stitch) cos its so cute!!!

OKAY BYE XD
